Insurance & Membership Requirements
OnwardsUpwards require all UK participants to be members of the BMC (British Mountaineer Council).
All participants are required to be a holder of membership to an organization regulated by the UIAA (International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation) under the Czech Mountaineering Federation regulations. All participants must have travel insurance and cover must include climbing and abseiling.
This can be added to BMC membership or we can recommend www.columbusdirect.com for an affordable option.
European Health Insurance Card
If you are a UK resident, when temporarily visiting European Union (EU) country’s, or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland you are entitled to medical treatment that becomes necessary at reduced cost or sometimes free.
We recommend you gain this card which can very simply be applied for online at www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/home.do - it takes 10 minutes, it's free and should be delivered in 7 working days. This will help you, us, and the medical services in the event of an accident.
You will be required to bring originals or copies of all the above details with you for our records and use in any emergency.
